« Hi, my name is Sylvie Gagnon and I am a consultant dentist for the Direction de santé publique de la Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine. I’ve been practicing dentistry in the beautiful region of Gaspésie for 24 years. Although I am native of Quebec City, I was literally seduced by the beauty of this vast land where sea and mountains define the landscape beautifully.

Newly graduated, I was far from suspecting that I would spend most of my life in this beautiful region. In fact, it’s the generosity, spontaneity and hospitality of Gaspesians that inspired me. It must be said that practicing dentistry in rural areas has several advantages. The practice is diversified and very rewarding because Gaspesians are very grateful people.

Over the years that I have practiced, I can assure you from personal experience that there is no competition between colleagues, only mutual aid. I think this is an important asset that needs to be mentioned especially if you want to come to practice in our region.

Concluding, I must mention that great opportunities await you if you feel like coming to work in Gaspésie. It’s a nice place to start a family.
